Over the Shoulder Outdoors Field Staff
The OTS Outdoors Field Staff brings a variety of experience to the team. Each team member is passionate about the outdoors, loves sharing it and introducing others, and represent a large majority of the hunters and fisherman across America. Field Staff applications are currently available for 2016 as we look to fill new spots on the team that are interested in the Over the Shoulder Outdoors lifestyle with motivated individuals, such as the people below!
Sheldon is a Southeast Minnesota native that grew up hunting, fishing, and farming. He takes every opportunity he can to get out, whether its bowhunting for whitetails, chasing spring gobblers, or looking for shed antlers. Sheldon is looking forward to adding the videography aspect to his hunts.
Brett was born and raised in the Winona, MN area. He grew up in the small town of Lewiston, MN and currently still lives there. Brett graduated from the Lewiston-Altura High School in 2010 where he participated in many sports throughout his schooling, including golf and basketball.
OTS Pro Staffer Brandon Schmit hails from Rollingstone, Minnesota. He grew up playing baseball and hockey his whole life, while fitting in hunting and fishing anytime he could. He started hunting at the age of 12 with his dad and his uncle Brett Schmit, who helped mold him into the outdoorsman he is today.
Trevor has been involved in the outdoors since he was a young boy, as he would go on adventures in the woods with his two older brothers or go on camping trips as a boy scout. When he became older, his involvement with the outdoors turned into hardcore hunting.
Bryan loves everything about the outdoors. He spends his falls rattling in whitetails or calling in ducks, and in the off-season he throws a line in the water whenever he can. Although Bryan is fairly new to filming, he has shown to be very dedicated and is a great addition to the team.
Ethan has hunted his whole life. He is blessed to have a family and many friends that live to be outdoors, including the OTS Outdoors family. Ethan’s ultimate goal in life is to surpass Stan Potts and kill five 200" whitetails, so be sure to tune in and follow Ethan on his quest!
Drew brings many skills to the table. Living in the famed Buffalo County, Wisconsin, Drew has access to hundreds of acres including a family-owned farm that him and his family have been managing for years. He is an all-around avid outdoorsman and is excited to add videography to the mix.
Although Brody has grown up hunting and fishing, he has only recently fallen in love with the outdoors. He is constantly learning and trying new outdoor activities. We are excited to watch Brody grow as an outdoorsman through his videos!
Layton is currently attending Rochester Community and Technical College pursuing an associate’s degree in liberal arts and sciences, as well as taking prerequisites at RCTC in order to pursue a bachelor’s degree for radiology upon being accepted to the program at the University of Minnesota-Rochester.
Derrick is currently a Chief of Police in rural Wisconsin. The time he gets to spend outdoors is important for the therapeutic qualities that being in the outdoors brings. While life on the job can change and oftentimes breed chaos, the experiences of the outdoors are always reminder of what’s really important in life.
Eric is from a small town in Valders, Wisconsin - this is where he started his hunting passion. His dad Allen, who is in the conservation Hall of Fame and one of the founders of Wisconsin Deer Hunters Association, got Eric into hunting and land conservation. You can say it's in his blood!
Jim has always been passionate about the outdoors and has hunted for over 20 years. He has hunted deer, elk, turkey, and waterfowl. You name it and he has either hunted it or wants to! Jim is married to his wife, Shannon, and they have a black lab named Brick. Jim has been working construction his whole life.
