Greg Evers

Greg grew up in SW Minnesota and has been hunting and fishing since he was a little kid.  He has a degree in aquaculture and worked at a fish hatchery in Brandon MN and at a tilapia farm in Iowa.  Since then, he moved to Sartell, MN, and started driving and now work for Sysco and deliver food and goods to restaurants.  Greg has been married for 15 years and has 2 kids, Erika who is 14 and Ryan who is 12.

This past fall, Greg started filming his hunts and now that his son is old enough to hunt he is filming him too.   Greg has lived and hunted all over the mid west, from pheasants in SD, to ducks in Iowa, deer in Missouri, and all of the above in MN.  He has also recently started hunting out west and loves it! Last fall he was able to harvest a 180 inch mule deer with his bow on public land and he plans on more trips in the future.  Harvesting that trophy has given Greg the opportunity to be on a national deer hunting podcast and write an article for a magazine.

Gregs main focus is bowhunting and he just can't get enough. It gives him such a rush to have close encounters and lets him feel alive when the game is almost on top of him.  Recently, he has started turkey hunting along with his son, so they are learning together and having a blast doing it!

One of Greg's biggest passions besides bowhunting is bass fishing. For the past 15 years, Greg has been tournament bass fishing all over Minnesota.  He loves fishing for everything and has caught some trophy fish while doing so, including a 50 inch musky, 28 inch walleye, many 20 inch bass including a 6.38 pounder as his biggest. Greg has fished walleyes in Canada and along with his son and together they have caught their inshore slam in Tampa Bay, FL.  Greg now plans on doing some off shore ocean fishing in the next few years.  If you can't find Greg on the water or hunting, he is usually smoking pork or beef on his smoker.

One of Greg's main goals is to give his kids all of the opportunities to hunt and fish in different areas of the country that he didn't have. He plans to build up points for western states for his son so they can go on DIY elk and mule deer hunts together and maybe even sheep someday.  Right now, they just bowhunt whitetail and its a blast!  Greg is excited to be a part of the OTS family and we can't wait to see some of his adventures!
